What is an MBA? The MBA is a professional degree designed for people who need formalized training across the business disciplines. The Executive version of this degree is designed for people with experience and a career focus more advanced than the typical MBA student. For more information on MBA studies, please visit the GMAT web site at www.gmat.org. What is different about the IEMBA? The IEMBA is an MBA degree that is focused on international business, sensitive to the needs of executives, and is held in locations around the world. Its schedule, participants, courses, and ambiance are designed to provide state-of-the-art education to executives who have high potential and moving up in their organizations. What is the schedule? The entire program lasts for 15 months and is scheduled in 9 study sessions. Eight of the sessions are held off site, i.e., either in Prague or Sao Paulo, and last from 8 to 14 days. One session is held at the University of Pittsburgh, where IEMBA/EMBA participants from Prague, Sao Paulo and Pittsburgh come together to attend classes and participate in common activities. The session in the United States lasts for 3 weeks. For the detailed schedule, please click on Sao Paulo and then on Schedule. Why is the cost higher than most MBA programs in South America or Central Europe? The simple answer is that you get what you pay for. We have a great deal built into the program -- infrastructure, excellent staff and faculty and many support systems. These things cost money. Moreover, IEMBA is an extension of a top-ranking U.S. EMBA program, whose degree is valued and respected worldwide. This is an investment, not an expenditure. It will reap benefits throughout the participant's life. How do I apply? In order to get as complete a picture as possible of each candidate, we ask that the following documents be submitted: · application form · 2 recommendation letters · letter of self recommendation · curriculum vitae · university transcripts and diploma · official scores from GMAT and TOEFL tests The application form may be submitted on-line or in hard-copy form. To request a brochure with hard-copy forms, please click here. For more information about applying, please click here. Who will be (is) in the class? IEMBA participants come from all over the world, although the majority of participants in the Sao Paulo class are from South America and the majority in the Prague class are from Europe. All participants have at least 5 years of management experience, a university education and fluency in English. Aside from these common characteristics, however, each class contains a great variety of backgrounds and specializations.
