What's the opportunity?
A specialized professional in technical accounting seeks to assume the strategic
position of Head of Technical Accounting in a company listed on Nasdaq. With
expertise in issuing accounting opinions, defining accounting procedures,
coordinating audits, staying updated on technical issues, and skill in interacting
with regulators such as Nasdaq, SEC, BCB, among others.
What will you be doing?
Issuance of IFRS Accounting Opinions - Produce detailed and accurate accounting
opinions to support the company's strategic decisions, ensuring compliance with
international accounting standards.
Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of all deliverables required for SEC
filings, such as 20F and 6K
Strategic Support to Business Areas - Proactively collaborate with business areas
in defining the best accounting procedures for specific transactions.
Efficient Coordination of Audits - Supervise and lead the corporate and subsidiary
audit process, ensuring not only compliance but also operational efficiency and
the identification of improvement areas.
Constant Update on Technical Matters - Stay continually updated on the latest
developments in technical accounting and regulatory issues, and implement
necessary changes to ensure adherence.
Regulatory Relations Management - Coordinate relations with regulators such as
Nasdaq, SEC, BCB, and others, ensuring transparent communication, effective issue
resolution, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
What skills do you need?
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is
strongly desired, reflecting a commitment to the highest professional standards.
10+ years of experience working in Big Four companies, combined with at least 5
years of related experience in publicly traded companies in the USA, demonstrating
a comprehensive understanding of best accounting practices and nuances of the
North American regulatory environment.
Experience in a Big Four auditing firm is preferred.
In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act
compliance.
Solid History in Issuing Complex Accounting Opinions - Proven ability to analyze
and communicate financial information clearly and accurately.
Effective Audit Coordination - Evidence of exceptional skills in leading and
coordinating audits, with tangible results in process improvement and compliance
assurance.
Relations with Regulators - Substantial experience in interacting with regulators
such as Nasdaq, SEC, BCB, demonstrating not only technical knowledge but also
strong interpersonal skills for effective communication.
Continuous Technical Update - Commitment to continuous updating on technical
issues, evidenced by participation in courses, events, and other professional
development initiatives.
Strategic Leadership - Proven leadership ability, demonstrating the capacity to
guide the team to success, influence strategic decisions, and act as a reliable
source of technical knowledge.
