What youll do
Build high performing teams by attracting, hiring, retaining, and coaching top
talent.
Lead the development team, of various experience levels, in the design,
development, coding, testing, and debugging of applications.
Work effectively with Technical Product Managers to own & ensure delivery against
agreed/priorities.
Grow team and guide the career development of team members, including both
technical and interpersonal skills necessary for being effective and successful in
a professional software engineering organization.
Provide systematic and direct individual performance feedback focused on
recognition of achievement and opportunities for growth.
Manage the day-to-day activities of a development team, focusing on full-stack
application development.
Ensure the development team accurately understands and adheres to business
requirements.
Take projects from concept to implementation, ensuring timely and high-quality
delivery.
Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with internal and external
stakeholders.
Work closely with key stakeholders to promptly raise project issues and prioritize
tasks effectively.
Proactively assess escalations and collaborate with the team to respond
appropriately.
Participate in on-call support as an escalation point of contact for technical
issues.
Requirements
Bachelor's/Masters/Degree or equivalent in a technology related field (e.g.,
Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) required.
professional experience in software development, with focus on:
Long time dedicated to developing application software in Software as a Service
(SaaS) distribution model using Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Must have managerial experience, specifically in managing developers in people
manager capacity.
Outstanding software engineering experience/with previous experience of managing
engineering teams.
Demonstrated ownership of/end-to-end/solutions from design through delivery.
Strong critical-thinking and decision-making skills.
Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
A high degree of intellectual curiosity and a lack of fear for learning something
new. You should be open to learn from others and willing to help mentor and teach.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with technical product
managers, architects, and technical/teams/across different product areas.
Knowledge of secure coding practices, compliance, open-source technologies and
frameworks.
Good understanding on Backlog planning.
Hands-on experience in developing and debugging Java and J2EE applications.
Proficiency in
Web technologies:
HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Databases:
Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
SQL:
DDL, DML, DCL and TCL.
Test frameworks:
Junit and Mockito.
Secure coding:
XSS, CSRF and SQL Injection prevention.
CI/CD software:
Git, Maven, Jira, Bamboo or Jenkins, Nexus or Artifactory.
Server software:
Tomcat or similar
Operating system:
UNIX or LINUX commands.
Working knowledge of
Application frameworks:
Spring, Hibernate and Jersey.
Troubleshooting applications deployed in public cloud environment.
Deploying applications on Kubernetes platform.
Excellent communication in English.

Fieldglass Engineering team in Sao Leopoldo, to augment our Engineering teams
