ROLE PURPOSE
As Reliability Engineer you provide detailed reliability and life cycle cost
analysis for units and projects as directed by the Reliability Manager
ROLE CONTRIBUTION
1 In order to Build and Maintain a Reliability Databank based on Fleet and Industry Reliability data, YOU ARE TO :
1.1 Support Asset Integrity to collect and analyse data to support efficient asset
management
1.2 Integrate industry data
1.3 Calculate reliability figures The measure of effectiveness will be:
- high percentage of Fleet Data versus Industry Data
- confidence in available Data is high enough to enable Reliability Calculations
to be made
1.4 Have desirable knowledge of reliability tools (Reliability Principles and
Analytics, Reliability Strategies, RCM Reliability-Centered Maintenance, FMEA
Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, RCA Root Cause Analysis, etc.)
2 In order to achieve an optimum balance between cost and reliability, YOU ARE TO :
2.1 Carry out RAM studies, Reliability centered Maintenance (RCM) studies, Failure
mode effects and criticality (FMECA) studies together with the Maintenance
department as required throughout the unit life cycle
2.2 Use above studies to advise Maintenance and Supply Chain on stock level
control of spares
2.3 Use above studies to advise Asset Integrity discipline leads on changes to the Maintenance Strategy The measure of effectiveness will be:
