The Special Projects team within Microsoft Research & Incubations is searching for a full-stack software engineer who is eager to tackle unique challenges around knowledge extraction, representation, and LLMs. In this role, youll work at the intersection of machine learning and engineering to bring our research to bear on unique problem domains and impactful partnerships. We are looking for a versatile software engineer with a passion for unlocking the hidden potential in data. In this role you will work closely with researchers, data scientists, and other engineers to build full-stack systems that showcase problem solutions. Areas of development could include: Pipeline and service development in Python Frontend development using frameworks such as Streamlit or Shiny, alongside JavaScript/TypeScript web applications written in React Data visualization with Vega and D3 Resource deployment on Azure Microsoft Research offers an exhilarating and supportive environment for cutting-edge, multidisciplinary research, both theoretical and applied, with access to an extraordinary diversity of big and small data sources, an open publications policy, and close links to top academic institutions.
