Boeing Brazil Engineering is seeking a Senior Environmental Control Systems Engineer reporting to the Environmental Control Systems Manager team in São José dos Campos, Brazil office. The Senior Environmental Control Systems Engineer will join the Boeing Brazil Environmental Control System team supporting the development and documentation of the Environmental Control System (ECS) and its sub-systems, such as Pneumatic or Bleed System, Ice & Rain Protection Systems, Air Conditioning, Equipment Cooling, Cabin Pressurization, Fuel Tank Inertization, Cargo Fire & Smoke Protection, and more. The ideal candidates will have strong backgrounds in design, systems engineering, system architecture, and mechanical systems. The engineers will collaborate closely with Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCA) to provide engineering support for new developments and airplanes in service. Responsibilities include validating and verifying systems and components, developing design solutions, integrating with other ECS sub-systems, and ensuring compliance with airworthiness and operational regulations. The engineers will also work with suppliers to optimize integration and meet program goals, as well as support troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance activities. They will also play a pivotal role in training and mentoring others, showcasing their ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and exercising considerable autonomy in determining the technical objectives of their assignments. Position Responsibilities: " The Senior engineer is expected to act as a technical reference to the team, eventually overseeing a team of employees. " Senior engineers have a high level of technical knowledge and work with autonomy and minimal direction. " Environmental Control System: equipment definition and trade studies, requirement development and decomposition, modeling and simulation, equipment qualification, suppliers oversight, performance analysis, Spatial Integration to aircraft, test procedures authoring, execution and analysis. " Coordinates with other functions, such as Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, and Safety, to shape systems architecture and associated interfaces between groups. This position is hybrid / Telecommuting. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring teams discretion and could potentially change in the future. Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): " Must have existing rights to work in Brazil " Bachelors Degree from an accredited course of study in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics engineering, Control and Automation Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical engineering, Industrial Engineering or Production Engineering " Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA) " Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language " Experience with airplane systems development Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience): Experience with: " Aeronautical systems development following ARP4754 standard " Sub-systems/equipment supplier´s management and oversight " Developing Environment Control Systems for aeronautical applications (eg. Pneumatic or Bleed System, Ice & Rain Protection Systems, Air Conditioning, Equipment Cooling, Cabin Pressurization, Fuel Tank Inertization, Cargo Fire & Smoke Protection, etc). Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Additional Information: This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil.
