As Senior Operations Manager, you will provide support for solving complex
technical problems that arise in manufacturing production. Working with
leading-edge technology, you will make key decisions, resolve issues and oversee
projects to shape enhancements. Youll unite cross-functional teams to connect,
share knowledge, innovate and to develop improvements.
Partner with the best
Primary owner of shop operations including safety, quality, on-time delivery,
costs, and asset utilization. Responsible for working with customers, functional
leaders, and internal staff to meet requirements. Must ensure all support
functions at facility are staffed and well trained to perform their duties
effectively. Be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all
Operations and Services functions at the facility. Manage the facility within
operating budget. Be responsible for the day-to-day operations at this site
including all aspects from the reception of raw materials through the delivery of
finished product. Develop and manage budgets to approve expenditures for supplies,
materials, and human resources, ensuring that materials, labor, and equipment are
used efficiently to meet production targets.
Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary
costs and maintaining current quality standards. Be responsible for production
output, product quality and on-time shipping. Plan, organize, direct, and run
optimum day-to-day operations.
Drive operational excellence across the manufacturing operations, developing and
implementing best practices and making use of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
techniques to simplify workflows and reduce cycle times. Lead and support in a
Lean Environment and always look for ways to optimize processes to reduce waste
and improve customer fulfilment/satisfaction. Drive base/variable costs and
promote initiatives to reduce bullet train costs.
Own all aspects of the shop cost value and work to optimize operations and costs
in order to have an competitive cost in the market.
Implement strategies in alignment with business initiatives and provide a clear
sense of direction and focus, making sure the team is aligned with all the Baker
Hughes values, setting a clear vision to everyone on where the business is going
and how to get there.
Establish and adjust an organizational structure that best supports the shop's
goals and measurements. Provide technical expertise, coaching, encouragement,
motivation, and development to shop teams to ensure development of strong talent
pool and robust execution. Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and
recruit, manage and develop plant staff.
Promote and own a working environment to achieve excellence in EHS, Compliance,
Quality, Customer Service & Productivity.
Conduct frequent interactions on manager level with Engineering, maintenance,
planning and enabling functions about technical and organizational alignment.
Handles complex manufacturing processes. Manufacturing department has to define
approaches. Variety due to customization to client needs.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will have:
Have a bachelors degree
Fluent in Portuguese and English
Experience in Oil & Gas or relevant industry experience is preferred.
Experience in a manufacturing or service shop environment including leading hourly
employees.
Six-sigma or Lean certification is preferred.
Existing knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing/shop management such as
MRP/ERP systems, assembly and test systems, production and inventory control,
variable cost productivity, and fulfilment metrics, quality systems, cost systems,
and fulfilment metrics, and procedures.
Existing or strong willingness to learn technical knowledge of Subsea production
equipment and services.
Ability to manage & lead effectively in a dynamic, matrix and fast paced
environment.
Ability to problem solve while staying objective and analytical.
Ability to effectively plan and organize in order to meet customer requirements.
Ability to apply statistical methods for process improvement.
Proven performance track record.
Desired Characteristics

Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence in a
cross-functional, global and matrix environment.
Strong focus on customer service and relationship building including experience
handling customer issues/escalations.
Understanding of regional characteristics including language proficiency.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to get deep into operations and demonstrating accountability
to resolve issues through a positive and team-oriented environment
Proficiency and ability to work with IT systems including but not limited to
Oracle, Primavera, AS400, SAP, and Microsoft Office
