Sobre a vaga
At NewRetirement, our aim is to enable anyone to do better by making the most of
their money and time. Our comprehensive financial planning platform allows anyone
to create a plan and understand how the decisions they make today can impact their
future. Were at the precipice of an exciting time at our company. We have
recently seen exponential growth, weve raised $20+M from top investors, and were
optimistic about the future as we grow.
About the Role
Were currently working on leveling up our brand, marketing, and product.
Significant changes are coming soon, and were looking for a full-stack Senior UX
Writer to help support a new brand rollout and ongoing copy needs. Youll be
collaborating with partners from marketing, product, and other parts of our
organization.
This is a senior-level role. Because this is our first copy hire you'd need to be
driven and able to work autonomously. That doesnt mean youd be lonely or
unsupported though! Youd be joining a small (6 folks so far), deeply kind, and
talented design team. The culture of the team is supportive, data-driven, and
growth-oriented. You will be reporting directly to the Head of Design & Brand who
has grown other design teams in the past and has a long track record of coaching
designers and writers as they level up.
Responsibilities
Translate our voice and tone into copy for a range of mediums, both short and
long-form, including webpages, emails, ads, social posts, product touchpoints, and
more
Set and maintain a high bar for copy across the organization by demonstrating a
commitment to both craftsmanship and effectiveness
Maintain and evolve our core brand identity, verbal guidelines, and copy standards
to support company objectives and ensure a cohesive customer experience
Work with partners in marketing to co-create high-quality creative campaigns and
ads that reflect our brand at the highest level and help convert customers
Work with partners in design and product to create clear UX copy that increases
usability, while maintaining consistency
Be an advocate for clarity, brevity, and making things easily understood by our
consumers
Define content strategy for our marketing website
Help establish best practices and processes around the maintenance and evolution
of copy
Work with internal partners and external vendors to support implementation of copy
through launch
Break down complex subject matter, making it easy to understand without losing
nuance
Scope copy work, set and meet timelines
Who you are:
Youre comfortable being an active voice within our team to advocate for the
brand's verbal guidelines. You have experience supporting voice and tone, and
helping others bring voice and tone standards into their workflow.
Youre an autonomous person who doesnt like being micromanaged, but you have a
bias toward sharing progress and being transparent in your process.
Youre a customer advocate, you think holistically about the journey youre
writing for, and you thrive on getting user feedback to make your writing even
better.
Youre comfortable with some ambiguity. You know how to set expectations, estimate
how long something may take, and escalate issues when they arise.
Youre able to manage multiple projects of varying complexities and meet
reasonable deadlines.
Your instincts are to work smarter, not harder. Youre continually looking for
ways to improve processes to make our organization and your workflow more
efficient.
You like collaborating with and gaining alignment from people with various
backgrounds. Youre respectful when challenging assumptions and you give and
receive feedback with grace.
You are skilled at communicating the thought process behind what youve written.
You know why you made each decision, and can clearly articulate it.
