About our Team
Our team works with editors, authors, reviewers and colleagues to manage the
end-to-end editorial publication process. We ensure timely and high-quality
delivery of our content, delighting our authors and customers every step of the
way. We're truly a global team, with colleagues across the world.
About the Role
In this role, you will build and maintain an in-depth understanding of the market
and a network of relevant contacts. You'll create an approved publication strategy
by acquiring, developing and publishing commercially attractive new and revised
print and electronic book titles. Please submit resumes in English.
Responsibilities
Conceptualizing and acquiring between 30-50 new book projects annually in
Chemistry.
Negotiating contracts with authors, editors, and partners to ensure best possible
net revenue outcomes.
Conducting and executing an annual publication strategy based on data and
analytics.
Maintaining successful relationships with authors and editors and ensuring author
queries and concerns are appropriately handled.
Working collaboratively and professionally with colleagues in Editorial,
Production, Journals, Marketing, Sales, Royalties, Contracts, Finance, and
Publishing support.
Delivering on-time and on budget publication of forthcoming titles while ensuring
high quality content.
Requirements
Experience with strategic planning, market research and networking.
Have experience in/or a successful track record of content acquisition and author
management.
Possess knowledge of acquisitions, publishing, and production processes/financial
modeling.
Able to partner with stakeholders in production, marketing, sales and editorial.
Across lists, teams, and locations.
Have excellent self-motivation, written/verbal communication, negotiation, and
people skills.
Be proficient in Microsoft suite. Coupled with learning agility in adopting new
skills and tools.
