What were looking for
We are looking for a Market Reporter to join our Editorial Team to cover the
Brazilian Motor Fuels Market and report on deals, price movements and market news.
This is an excellent opportunity to forge your career covering the economically
and politically influential energy sector in Brazil.
You will apply and develop your skills across daily news reporting, market
analysis and features in this fast-paced environment with the highest standards of
journalistic independence and integrity.
What is involved
Your role will include engaging with Brazil-based companies active commodities.
The environment is fast paced but values careful thought. You will enjoy
collaborative work with colleagues from a range of backgrounds, many located in
Argus other offices around the globe.
Key Responsibilities
Developing and maintaining rapport with key contacts and liaising regularly with
industry stakeholders (buyers, sellers, traders, distributors) to gain market
intelligence.
Working with and interviewing subject matter experts, research industry trends and
assessing the worthiness of potential topics.
Assessing commodity prices based on collected data, adhering to rigorous
compliance standards.
Synthesizing complex information quickly.
Writing market commentary, analysis pieces and news stories adhering to strict
deadlines.
Maintaining existing databases and building new databases for designated product.
Developing new contacts and relationships within marketplace.
Skills and Experience
Bachelors degree in journalism.
Mandatory - Written and spoken proficiency in both English and Portuguese.
Desirable - Prior experience with commodity markets.
Demonstrated goal-oriented collaboration skills, with strong diplomatic and
problem-solving ability.
A good understanding of economics.
A commitment to the highest level of accuracy and completing all writing within
established deadlines.
Attributes
Demonstrable interest in global business and politics.
Self-motivated, able to use initiative and inquisitive by nature.
Strong social skills and team oriented.
