WHO YOULL WORK WITH:
As a member of the Global Tax team, the Latin America Tax Director will work with
local finance teams in the region, including Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Argentina,
Peru, and Mexico, to oversee the direct and indirect tax compliance and reporting
obligations for the region. This position supports the Executive Vice President,
Global Tax and will be supported by a group of internal and external tax
resources. In addition, to overseeing timely and accurate compliance and
reporting, the Latin America Tax Director will collaborate with Global Tax team
members in respect of planning, advisory and audit defense matters.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
You will manage the timely preparation and submission of all direct and indirect
tax obligations for Latin America through collaboration and coordination with
internal and external resources. This includes ensuring tax filings, payments,
withholding taxes, reconciliations, tax assessments, notices and audits are timely
and effectively managed. Also, you will monitor tax legislation changes in each of
the relevant jurisdictions and assess the impact on the Companys operations as
well as providing guidance and leadership in identifying changes to procedures and
policies necessary to comply with prospective tax legislation changes.
Cross-border transactional tax matters:
You will partner with Global Tax colleagues to address tax matters pertaining to
transfer pricing and cross-border transactions and advise on Permanent
Establishment Issues, withholding taxes, and double tax treaty claims and
reporting. You will work Global Tax colleagues and local country tax advisors to
assess transfer pricing and related party transaction reporting. Respond to ad hoc
questions as needed and you will liaise with other Global Tax Team members on
special projects and cross-regional matters.
Direct and Indirect Tax compliance and audit matters:
You will review and thoroughly understand each countrys tax filing procedures to
ensure timely submissions.
Tax Provision Accounting:
You will coordinate with local finance teams for the preparation and review of
each countrys annual tax provision, including supporting the reconciliation of
GAAP/statutory reporting permanent and temporary differences, and tax return to
provision adjustments and reconciliations.
ABOUT YOU:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA or Chartered Accountant,
preferred MBA, Masters degree in Taxation, JD or equivalent experience.
10-12+ years of corporate tax experience with private and public companies,
including experience collaborating with external advisers on complex tax matters
on a global scale.
Thorough knowledge of Latin America direct and indirect taxation.
Big 4 experience preferred.
Must have a strong background in a diverse range of tax areas, which could include
income tax, indirect tax, tax accounting, transfer pricing, controversy, and
income tax treaties.
Strong interpersonal and multi-tasking skills; organized and attentive to details.
One who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses the ability to
independently manage and execute multiple projects.
Proficient in English and Spanish.
