Overview:
We are looking for an experienced technology leader with expertise in software
architecture to join the Enterprise Architecture & Technology Enablement team in
the Business Technology (BT) organization. This role will translate and apply BTs
future-proof strategy and architectural principles across all ERP solutions, and
it will support SAP ECC and S/4 architectural decisions .
This role will require expertise in Enterprise Architecture, as well as practical
experience as a SAP architect. The Enterprise Architect will work closely with BT
teams to evaluate opportunities to decommission solutions for cost and service
optimization, and utilize SAP reference architecture as a basis for Strategic ERP
Roadmap creation. The Enterprise Architect will report to the Enterprise
Architecture Lead.
Essential Capabilities:
Manages decisions around technical architecture for development, execution,
operations, and infrastructure for all SAP ERP Instances
Defines realistic mid- to long-term (3-5 year) strategic direction and roadmap for
the implementation and usage of ERP components, as well as integrated third-party
systems and legacy ERP systems
Establishes or has substantial influence on long-term organization vision and
strategy across markets, functions, divisions, regions and/or countries.
Material mid- to long-term (3-5 years) impact on overall results. Ideally, is
recognized as an external thought leader within the Technology Industry
Participates in the development of a multi-year roadmap for the enterprise and
architecture strategy
Translates functional and non-functional requirements into SAP components to
evaluate capability model, features, and solutions
Establish and evaluate Objectives & Key Results and performance metrics (e.g.,
time-to-market, cost-to-change)
Defines patterns for reuse to drive standardization based on an assessment of
capabilities
Shares best practices and technical expertise on ERP architecture that may promote
efficiency/performance and help to identify and mitigate potential risks
Conducts due diligence and business assessments
Applies best practices of SAP Reference Architecture Content for Business and
Solution architecture design
Applies the SAP Integration Advisory Methodology and defines integration best
practices for implementation
Evaluates the impact of regulations and implications for the Business and Solution
architecture
Applies SAP Clean Core principles and strategy, and serves as an advisor to
business stakeholders in order to minimize custom code development during the
S/4HANA transition
Supports ERP implementation teams in defining their roadmap for improving
engineering practices and quality
Helps ERP implementation teams surface problems and remove technical impediments
Shares responsibility with ERP implementation teams for building reusable and
scalable components
Works closely with the procurement team to optimize cost, prevent redundancy and
increase efficiency through continuous process improvement
Works closely with the security team to ensure compliance with various industry
best practices and certifications, identify any gaps in the risk profile of the
domain, and take measures to ensure confidentiality, integrity, security and
reliability
Required Capabilities:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent
experience in the field
10+ years of experience as Solution/Enterprise Architect in a complex enterprise
environment at multinational company
5+ years of experience or 2+ projects in an architectural position supporting
complex SAP S/4 HANA implementations
Demonstrated ability to manage technical architecture analysis, research, and
design of new functionalities and integrations aligned with an enterprise-wide
strategy
Deep understanding of the interdependencies between enterprise strategy and IT
developments
Ability to leverage strong analytical and problem-solving skills to recognize
reusable patterns
Demonstrated experience using architectural frameworks such as TOGAF and IAF, and
deep understanding of architectural tools
Understanding of risk requirements, security and reliability at OS, Middleware and
application level
Familiarity with regulatory environments (i.e. Sarbanes Oxley) and continuous
audit cycles (internal and external)
Willingness to take ownership of responsibilities outside immediate sphere of
influence (e.g., organizational health)
Integration and solution design experience
Preferred Experience & Domain Knowledge
3+ years of consulting experience across 2+ industries is preferred
Credentials for SAP Certified Application Specialist or SAP Certified Application
Professional are preferred
Additional experience/ background in SAP ABAP Development and Netweaver BASIS
preferred
Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus
