Job Description
The position of EHS Specialist within EHS will provide technical expertise,
implementation of protocols and guidance for safety, occupational health, and
environmental programs and services. Evaluates and monitors company practices to
ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety governmental
regulations of the country.
Advises, suggests and proposes new ways to enhance employee safety while still
maximizing productivity and safety.
Develops new initiatives for workplace safety programs that result in reduced
injury and illness rates.
The EHS Specialist will spend 35% of the time implementing EHS programs and
occupational health initiatives and proposals and 65% of the time implementing EHS
programs within the Field Services and Projects Organization. This position will
work closely with global, regional, and country management teams to implement,
monitor, execute and to show compliance of these EHS programs and serve future
project needs throughout Motorola Solutions.
Main Responsibilities:
Work with Field Services Teams to understand project related risks and assist them
with identifying solutions, which include developing procedures, execute and
complete onsite inspections, and job hazard analysis during the entire project
lifecycle.
Work closely with the Presale Teams to assist in both evaluating EHS concerns and
providing solutions to assist with the project bidding and contract negotiation
process.
Develop and deliver EHS Training courses specifically designed to address the
varied hazards associated with Field Service and office work. Training will
include instructor led, webinar and online formats. EHS will be responsible to be
in compliance with all the countrys procedures.
Effectively escalate, solve and communicate critical customer and/or project
related issues and propose and execute the proposed initiatives.
Assist with accident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions
for all the employees.
Develop tools/practices to assist Field Teams to reduce accidents and injuries,
effectively manage contractors, and report safety concerns.
Ensure all the occupational health policies are in compliance and propose new
initiatives, processes and best practices.
Responsible for the implementation of all EHS programs.
Basic Requirements
5-8 years of progressive experience implementing EHS procedures and initiatives in
construction and general industry environments.
Extensive knowledge of construction worksite safety practices and applicable EHS
related regulations and standards.
Ability to manage/communicate Field Service EHS information and drive EHS
expectations and outcomes.
Demonstrated project management skills and proven ability to deliver results in a
fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with all staff levels up to and including
executive levels of management.
Safety Professional Certifications or regional equivalent is a plus.
Trainer for Construction Safety or regional equivalent is a plus.
Strong cross-functional team leadership experience.
BS in Occupational Safety, or related engineering or physical science degree.
Must be fluent in both English and Portuguese, written and spoken. Spanish is a
plus.
Ability to read and understand laws and regulations.
Proficient in Google Suite and related computer skills.
