The Field Applications Specialist Advanced Staining for Leica Biosystems is
responsible for in-field technical applications support for Leicas current and
"next generation" range of automated immunohistochemistry and hybridization
products. He or she is expected to support customers by performing troubleshooting
and trainings, as well the service team with application support, also the sales
division throughout application training and pre-sales visits. This position
involves extensive interaction with other roles within Leica including Sales,
Regulatory, Operations, the Business Units and Service.
This position is part of the Services & Applications team located in São
Paulo/Barra Funda, will be remote and reports to Field Applications Supervisor. At

Major Responsabilities:
Prioritize customer training and education on instrumentation in laboratories upon
specific needs and demands in Advanced Staining Instruments.
Provide scientifically based laboratory support to the customer for in-field
installations, evaluations, training, and troubleshooting.
Support and collaborate with sales, services, and product teams within an assigned
geographic territory to understand, communicate, and lead current and projected
territory sales objectives.
Collaborate with colleagues on the investigation of difficult technical
application situations with customers. Detail-oriented assessment of customer
situation, capturing all information and employing critical thought process
Engage and communicate effectively with the team and provide leads for all product
opportunities.
Understand and be proficient in Leicas current and new product technologies and
applications in a diagnostic staining environment.
Serve as the subject matter expert on evaluations and installations of equipment,
promoting the Leica portfolio and post-purchase applications support, ensuring the
product is successfully meeting or exceeding expectations.
Collaborate with and support the sales and service organizations to aid
achievement and exceed monthly, quarterly, annual, and strategic unit (sales mix
objectives, profit goal, and market share goals).
Understand market conditions and current business, competitive literature, and
field surveillance of competition. Assist in product launch process.
Conduct pre-purchase reagent order management needed for evaluations.
Perform customer training to ensure accurate utilization
Conduct post-training and follow up with accounts to ensure all expectations were
met or exceeded
Ensure all the mandatory standards for equipment demo and training.
Maintain accurate and current customer contact and engagement history in assigned
customer tools, information as required.
Required Education:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Health, Life Sciences, Histology or equivalent. Masters or
PhD degree will be a diferential.
Experience/Skills:
Understanding of immunohistochemistry and hybridization.
Experience in Histology laboratory, clinical, research, or industrial setting with
a practical focus on immunohistochemistry and hybridization .
Experience in the optimization, operation, functionality, and support of both
manual and automated immunohistochemistry and hybridization products.
Travel:
Car driver's license is mandatory.
Ability to travel 75%+ to customers and Leica office. Eventually internationally.
Possess valid Passport and US visa.
Language:
Advanced Portuguese
Advanced English
