Job Purpose: The successful candidate will join the Legal Entity Climate Risk Team and will support Independent Risk Managements Climate Risk efforts in the LATAM. Working in close partnership with business lines and other functions, as well as the Global climate risk team, the role will focus on delivery and coordination of risk best practice in this critical area. This will involve the implementation of a framework and policy to identify, measure, monitor and manage climate risks and their impacts on legal entities (with focus on Brazil), in line with regulatory requirements and expectations. The role will be involved in the integration of climate risk into all core governance processes and will collaborate with the Credit Risk, Market Risk, Operational Risk and Stress Testing teams to implement specific climate risk management processes. Job Background/context: Climate risk has recently emerged as a top priority risk for the banking sector and regulators. A climate risk team established within Independent Risk Management is responsible for building out second line Climate Risk management capabilities, in terms of risk identification, measurement and integrating these into governance and existing risk processes. This role provides a unique opportunity to be part of building Citis capabilities in an exciting and rapidly evolving area. It would provide visibility, be cross-functional in nature and provide exposure to different businesses, products and risk types. The position involves a significant amount of interaction with senior management and subject matter experts. Key Responsibilities: ·Support the implementation of a framework and policy for identifying, measuring, monitoring and managing climate risks in line with Regulatory expectations (mainly Central Bank of Brazil), ·Coordinate integration of climate risk into core governance processes such as Material Risk Identification and Assessment, Risk Appetite and ICAAP, mainly for Brazil ·Ensure Risk review and challenge of first line deliverables such as integration of climate risk factors into Credit Assessment, Strategic Plan and Recovery Plan mainly for Brazil ·Work closely with Independent Credit Risk and Market Risk teams to drive portfolio analysis capabilities ·Collaborate with Operational Risk team to drive physical risk scenario analysis ·Work with Risk Analytics to enhance climate scenario analysis and stress testing capabilities ·Document the outcome of these processes, prepare and present to middle management on developments and proposed changes, ·Support the climate risk disclosures mainly for Brazil Knowledge/Experience: ·Knowledge in Credit Risk, Market Risk, Operational Risk and Climate Risk Frameworks ·Experience of framework design and implementation ·Strong knowledge of financial products ·Experience in strategic planning and project management ·Experience in dealing with and delivery of regulatory projects. ·Experience in dealing with change projects and/or building / delivering new capabilities ·A proven track record of liaising across diverse stakeholder groups; including senior managers, and large firm networks. Skills: ·Excellent written and oral communications skills, with a commanding and convincing delivery and the ability to synthesize complex concepts, translate into user friendly language and effectively present in long-form documents or slide format. ·Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to understand drivers and overcome barriers. ·Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse, work with, interpret and present large amount of data in a readily digestible format using the latest charting/diagrammatic presentation techniques. ·Strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively in a high-volume and complex environment with changing priorities with a practical solutions-driven approach ·Strong quantitative skills, particularly around statistics and strong attention to detail Fluent English and Portuguese is required. Qualifications: ·Academic degree or relevant equivalent working experience in Climate Risk Management in a managerial capacity.
