Job Purpose
Reporting to our Technical Director - Platform Leader, design and conduct research
projects in order to develop improved and new products and solutions within own
area, according to our business objectives and corporate strategy.
Responsabilities
Research Design and Execution
Independently plan, organize and execute projects in line with project
requirements
Conduct projects, update corresponding projects within Galaxy, write regular
reports and initiate stage gate reviews
Interact with suppliers
Perform day-to-day management of technical staff and equipment
Apply creative and innovative thinking skills to solve problems and progress
toward project deliverables
Work with Patents team to ensure appropriate protection of all Intellectual
Property and be alert to all opportunities to develop IP and protect inventions
Scientific Expert Support
Serve as a scientific and technical expert in own area
Perform exploratory research to lead to new projects within Galaxy
Effectively contribute to development of research methods and technical planning
Follow the scientific advancement in own field and identifies potential outside
collaborations
Team Management
Supervise Technologists and Interns
Academic Background and Experience
Bachelor's degree and 10-15 years job training
OR
MS and 2-5 years training
Technical Skills
Fluent English and Spanish
Sensory Science
People Management
Statistics
Knowledge of overall fragrance and/or taste science and technology and
understanding of fragrance business
Extensive technical skills in area of specialty, including current awareness of
technical developments in the industry; viewed as an expert in field of specialty
and related science
Understanding of research project management (RPM) philosophy and processes and
capable of leading a research/technology project
Ability to develop innovative solutions;
Interact well with other members of functional group; perceived as a team player.
