MAIN PURPOSE:
The Digital Farming Solutions (DFS) organization is seeking for a visionary Senior
Engineering Leader to join our LATAM team. This individual will play a crucial
role in steering software development teams as they craft innovative prototypes
that catalyze new business ideas. Our product offerings are diverse, used
globally, and can span multiple technologies. The Senior Engineering Leader will
leverage their leadership and influencing skills to work alongside product
managers, agile coaches, and the wider IT department to nurture a culture focused
on delivering exceptional value and achieving strategic business goals.
YOUR MISSION WILL BE TO:
Lead with a visionary approach, empowering teams to innovate and architect
solutions that align with DFS's strategic goals;
Act as a catalyst for growth and change, fostering a digital-first mindset and
championing leadership practices within the DFS Engineering organization;
Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships within DFS, throughout the company,
and with external business partners to propel project success;
Guide teams in embracing and applying agile principles, ensuring they are engaged
and perform at their peak;
Advocate for technical best practices and provide direction on technologies such
as AWS, Azure, and DevOps methodologies;
Responsible for delivering high quality products that satisfies customer needs and
meet compliance and privacy standards;
Communicate with the appropriate vendors to provide feedback on contractors or SOW
engagements;
Complete monthly financial tracking and forecasting as needed;
Serve as a representative and advocate for the connected systems community,
offering insights into product capabilities to stakeholders such as vendors and
developers.
ARE YOU READY FOR THE POSITION?
Must have:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineers or related areas;
Robust experience in the IT industry or equivalent experience in the software
development lifecycle;
Proven experience in leadership roles with a focus on influencing and guiding
technology projects;
Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience in fostering high-performing
agile teams;
Skilled in multiple programming languages (Java, Kotlin, Python, TypeScript) with
active participation in code reviews, technical design, and implementation
oversight;
Demonstrated ability to promote a culture of autonomy and innovation within teams;
Ability to operate effectively in environments with a large amount of ambiguity,
being adept at navigating and leading through organizational changes;
Budget management experience;
Ability to communicate effectively in English and Portuguese (written and spoken).
Expected to participate in forums where these 2 languages will be used
exclusively;
Availability to work in a hybrid workplace (some on-site workdays are expected in
São Paulo - SP).
Nice to Have:
Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish (written and spoken);
Broad understanding of front end, back end, including the best in class
technologies, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and DevOps environments and
methodologies;
Agriculture domain knowledge.
